Al-Sharief and his Mohawk
This wandering young Tausug continued to follow me as I searched a cemetery on the border of Jolo and Patikul for the grave marker of Prinsesa Tarhata Kiram, royalty of the Sultanate of Sulu. He was intrigued by the foreigner in his neighborhood and wanted to know more. I talked to him and snapped his picture beside a line of gravestones. Probably one of the most gentle people I have ever encountered.
He wants to be a policeman.
